Some Things Men Working Against Abuse (MWAA) Can't do

Sometimes we receive requests for types of assistance we are not set up to handle. Here are some examples of things we can't do:

  1. We do not offer services dealing with sexual abuse issues.
  2. We do not offer assistance to resolve divorce or property disputes, except in rare cases when victims of domestic violence need such referals.
  3. We do not provide drug/alcohol treatment.
  4. We cannot offer support group memberships to abusive men who have drug or alcohol issues, unless they are currently in treatment and/or are maintaining a clean and sober lifestyle and following a sobriety plan.
  5. We are not a Washington state certified domestic violence treatment program. Our program is a voluntary one, which means that those who have been court ordered to obtain D.V. treatment cannot satisfy such a court order through our program. Under certain circumstances, we do provide anger management & parenting classes mandated by a social service agency, provided that an agreement to do so has been made between the agency, Men Working Against Abuse (MWAA), and the individual concerned.
